Notification of Cyber/Social Media Claims of Clown Sightings

Safety Sign.png

Stanislaus Union School District is aware of and is monitoring recent claims of sightings or social media posts of clowns showing up at schools or other public places threatening to do harm. Local law enforcement stated there have been no legitimate reports in Modesto area schools.  However, we will continue to monitor activity closely, as we do not take any threat lightly. We encourage parents and guardians to speak with their children about the risks and consequences of any potential involvement in these social media posts or claims as these typea of behaviors and false claims are disruptive to a school’s learning environment.

In the event of any suspicious activity, in or around a school site, please contact the Modesto Police Department at (209) 552-2470. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority.
